IntroductionCrysis is the only game series (with more than 2 games) that I played in its entirety. Due to that fact, I got disappointed by the lack of quality the last games of this series show, compared to the original.
Crysis 2 had some flaws but the developers made an excuse saying that these were done in order to appeal to console gamers. But with Crysis 3, there is no excuse. A game with the same style of gameplay of the original would be a great success in today's saturated market. Still, this game has it's set of strong points and I'm here to talk about them has well has it's weak points. |

The World
The graphics of crysis 3 are incredible and, together with the great art style, they make for some pretty maps, both in the singleplayer and the multiplayer.
The game is set on a liberty dome: a protected area created in new york, by the PMC Cell. The story behind it is very confusing, so I'm not even going to try to explain it to you.
The biggest problem of the level design is, however, how linear the levels in the single player are. In crysis 1 they gave you a map and an objective and you could go wherever you wanted on the level. But in crysis 3, even though the maps are still big, they have only one very linear way to complete them. You are also guided most of the time on how to complete them, which makes them a lot easier, since you no longer have to think on how to do your objectives.

The singleplayer
Crysis 3 singleplayer is shamefully easy. It has linear levels, stupid AI and even an increadibly powerfull wepon that kills everything in one-shot: the predator bow.
It's amazing that in a world where power armors change your DNA, the most-powerfull weapon they could come up with is a bow.
This bow is available to you from start to finish, and is able to kill almost every enemy target with one shot. It can also shoot while you stay cloaked, without draining your energy.
At this moment, every one who played a crysis game understands how powerful this weapon is. BUT like that isn't enough, you also get explosive arrows, electric arrows, that work like the K-volt and some kind of noob-arrows that work like the shotgun and are used to make shooting running enemies a lot easier.
It is true that if you want, you can spend the whole game without using the bow, so the bow isn't a problem. It is just a good way of making the game easier for bad players without "ruining" the experience of hardcore gamers.
Also, they introduced a new mechanic: hacking. This allows for some tactical options in the game. It works has a minigame that gets progressively harder, has the encryption level increases.

Another big problem of the campaign is how short it is. The other games were around 18 or 30 hours long if you were not very good, but this game's campaign is about 6 hours long wich makes it the shortest game in the series.
Finally, the story in this game is incredibly average. It is a bit confusing, but it also serves as a nice conclusion to the crysis franchise. The game introduces some characters from the original game and refers to the the first game far more than cryisis 2 did.
The multiplayer
The multiplayer is, by far, the best part of this game. It has a huge amount of variety with it's game modes and game modifiers. There is the fast paced nanosuit vs. nanosuit mode, the slower and more tactical games without the nanosuits, and also the tense Hunter mode, which is a mutant-like mode, where hunters with nanosuits have to kill cell operatives, which in turn have to survive. This Hunter gamemode makes for some tense and sometimes scary gameplay.
Gamemodes also range from the regular team deathmatch and capture the flag, to more innovative gamemodes like the crash site, where a point is generated randomly in the map and players have to fight in order to capture it.

the best parts-The world is beautiful and detailed;
-The multiplayer has a huge variety of good gameplay; -The story serves has a nice conclusion to the series.... |
the worst parts-...but it is a bit confusing
- The levels are too linear; - The game is too short. |
My score: 7.0 Good
Conclusion
This game had a lot of potential. As I said, if they made a game with the style of gameplay of the original, but with this new world and new mechanics, Crysis 3 would have an enormous success. But instead, they left us with a half-finished game, that could be much much better.
Still, if you have the money, you can buy this game for it's multiplayer but be aware that with the major releases coming this october, people are going to stop playing it real fast.
